Tear Mender fabric and leather glue is a 73 year old brand owned by the Cismoski family and founded by Val "The Bish" Cismoski in 1932. They have extensive retail distribution but not a lot of money to promote the brand in the traditional media.
But their brand is available in many hundreds of retail outlets. So, on a daily basis, countless thousands of consumers see their packaging in stores across the country. Our first priority has been to take advantage of that audience. And we figured the best and easiest way to do that was to instantly have the best-looking glue packaging in every store.
The next easiest thing to fix was their website. So we did that too. Next up we are shooting a series of videos to promote Tear Mender online.
The Escape Pod holds an equity stake in Tear Mender glue. We have big plans for this brand and being a part-owner of Tear Mender has given us a refreshing new perspective to say the least!
THE STORY OF "THE BISH"
Val "The Bish" Cismoski developed the original formula for Tear Mender in the 1930s. His nickname was a result of his imposing physical presence and his knack for having an answer to any and all questions, which family members said reminded them of a bishop.
